The Old Bailey Choir was formed in 2017 by staff and volunteers of the Witness Service at the Central Criminal Court primarily to bring together those who work at that Court. Since then the choir has expanded to include members who work in and round the City of London. Membership is open to all singers and there is no formal audition and no requirement of previous choral experience. We aim for, and achieve, high standards; strong singers are always valued, and those with less experience will gain from the training the choir receives from our Director of Music, Andrew Storey. The choir aims to perform two concerts each year, as well as singing at the annual carol service in the Old Bailey (The Central Criminal Court). The choir is run by a team of committed volunteers. We are a very friendly and social choir and are not averse to meeting for a drink after rehearsals or joining in other social gatherings!
Our next concert is the Annual Carol Service of the Central Criminal Court in the Grand Hall at the Old Bailey on Wednesday 13th December 2023.
We are currently preparing for our next concert which is the Annual Carol Service of the Central Criminal Court as well as for an evensong in the new year.
We rehearse on a Wednesday evening from 5:30pm until 7:30pm in the Judges' dining room at the Old Bailey. You are more than welcome to join us by e-mailing for further details
